Therefore, UNOCI will always be at your side, the chief of the public information division of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) and the spokesperson of the mission, Hamadoun Touré, said to the staff members of the nursery Marie Thérèse Houphouet Boigny of Adjamé, on the occasion of the Christmas holiday celebration.

During the ceremony, UNOCI provided the center with food, clothing, shoes and school bags. To that end, Sister Madeleine Lobouet, Director of the nursery, said that by participating in the party "you give the children at this center the possibility to live cheerfulness and to experience the joy of living. Your presence confers to this celebration a special significance." She recalled that the residents of the nursery are for some abandoned children and for others, orphans or children whose parents are in prison.
Sister Lobouet, then pleaded that children should never be forgotten because "our children are in need. They are watching us for emotional support, clothing and food".

In the afternoon, UNOCI offered several NGOs working for the welfare of children, food and clothing. On this occasion, Mr. Touré said that the mission, by this gesture, does what these organizations always do for needy. "By your action, you help us, because fewer, there are underprivileged, better it will be for peace", he said. He added that "beyond this donation it is our partnership with you we want to consolidate". Mrs. Agnès D'Aquin, spokesperson of the recipients, described the donation as "the testimony of your commitments to the goals we set ourselves. I hope these actions will continue for the welfare of children in difficulty".
