Fraternite Matin: The UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI) has called on students to fight against rumours. At a sensitisation forum organised by UNOCI at the Felix Houphouet Boigny University in Abidjan on Tuesday, UNOCI officials Eliane Hervo-Akedengue and Yeo Gohouassou told the students that "rumour is fiction. It is unreliable news and it creates crisis. It is the enemy of peace and instigates people to do things they ought to avoid if they were well informed." Mrs. Daniela Lupas of UNOCI's Abidjan regional office said with the renovation of the University, it was important it engage the young student population in constructive reflection and for them to adopt the democratic values of peace, tolerance and social cohesion.



Fraternite Matin: The visiting Inter-Parliamentary Union delegation has been discussing the security situation with Ivorian authorities. The head of the delegation, Melegue Traore said the disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration - DDR - of ex-combatants was methodical and was gong on well. "The fact that 7000 ex-combatants have been processed since the launching of the DDR operation in October is a remarkable success in this kind of situation," he remarked.

L'Inter, Fraternite Matin, Soir Info, Le Jour Plus, Le Mandat, Le Patriote, Nord-Sud: By elections counting for the municipal and regional elections are scheduled to take place on 21 July in constituencies where the elections were disrupted such as Betie, Anyama and Doropo. The decision of the administrative bench of the Supreme Court was made public by the government spokesman after a cabinet meeting yesterday.

The lawyers said they needed more time to study the 68-page charge sheet covering crimes ranging from plotting to overthrow the government,organising armed groups, insurrection, undermining state security to usurpation of powers.
