The verification of the
provisional voters list: The FPI rejects the Soro's proposals and denounces the
results of the operation

Le Nouveau Réveil
 – The computer
checking of the provisional electoral list ended last Tuesday. The verification
operation itself, will officially end on July 26. Out of 1,792,356 of the
"target population", 1,626,248 cases have been treated. Since last Wednesday,
the manual phase of the operation was supposed to start with 135 150 petitioners
of the target population. However, against all hope, the manual phase of the
verification has not yet occurred. As matter of fact, the Ivorian Popular Front
(FPI) of Pascal Affi N'Guessan according to our source rejected all the results
of the work done by INS and SAGEM, under the supervision of the Technical
Secretariat of the general identification of populations working Group of the
Prime Minister's office. (...) The Affi N'Guessan's party is now asking for a
new schedule for a new operation. The proposals of the Prime Minister Guillaume
Soro to save the process did receive the consent of the FPI. (...) according to
reliable sources, Prime Minister Guillaume Soro, has decided to send a letter to
the facilitator, Blaise Compaoré to inform about the new impasse in the
electoral process.

Alleged fraud on the electoral
list: The truth about Gbagbo's fake dossier.

Le Patriote

A flop! A total flop! Laurent Gbagbo had alerted the whole world that the
provisional electoral list was full of fraudsters and it needed to be cleaned up
at all cost. The diplomatic missions and the international organizations
involved in the electoral process, received the precious record. The tool was
too good to warm up the disgusting nationalism. The 1533 cases in question
naturally landed in the hands of Prime Minister Guillaume Soro. These cases come
from Adjamé, Adjamé 1, Alépé, Dabou II, Marcory and Treichville. Only 6 of these
1533 petitioners are present on the grey list and there is nothing to attest
that they are not Ivorians. They are people who had never voted.  So much noise
for nothing! (...)

Forces Nouvelles meeting in
support of Soro, yesterday in Bouaké: The population disowns Gbagbo and demands
their identity cards and the election

Le Nouveau Réveil
 – The population
came out in huge numbers in the capital of the ex-rebellion, Bouaké, yesterday
not only to reaffirm their unwavering support and commitment to the Secretary
General of the Forces Nouvelles, Prime Minister Guillaume Soro, but also to
demand the issuance of their identity cards and the holding of the elections in
Côte d'Ivoire. The rally brought together, people from different districts of
the city, community leaders and civil society organizations. The objectives of
the Ivorian crisis were, at the beginning, to give Identity cards to every
Ivorian national and conduct fair, transparent and free elections in this
country. And then all the agreements were signed. The focus became gloomy... "How
could we talk about moralization of public life in a very strange country? We
have no identity cards. Nobody has an identity card," the spokesman for civil
society organizations, Kone Aboubacar said (...).

Sy Savane to the international
press: "Do not plunge headlong into any false debate

Fraternité Matin
 - The Minister of
Communication, Sy Savane met on Wednesday, July 07, with the international media
operating in Côte d'Ivoire. More than a dozen representatives of foreign press
responded to the Minister Sy Savane's invitation.  The Minister wanted to know
their situation on the daily basis, and to "take into account their concerns and
suggestions". The Minister and his guests had a two- hour discussion on some of
the major issues such as the electoral process, the high cost of living and
civilian protection, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the
independence of Côte d'Ivoire, the difficulties of foreign journalists mainly
those related to their accreditation, and the choice of the information.
Regarding the last topic, Mr. Savane was clear. According to him the
international media accredited in Côte d'Ivoire must balance their information.
"Do not go headlong into any false debate.  You should talk about what is wrong,
but you should not forget what is positive. You should take into account the
efforts which are being carried out," he said. (...)
