campaign manager in charge of the youth, Charles Blé Goudé, met on Wednesday in
Abidjan, with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General
for Côte d'Ivoire, Y.J. Choi, according to a press release from UNOCI sent to
AIP.

Charles Blé Goudé explained,
at the end of the session, that he came with his comrades, to speak with the
head of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) with regard to
what he called "the Beugré Mambé affair", referring to the charge of "fraud" and
"manipulation" of a file containing 429.000 petitioners who had been validated
on the electoral list. We want to have credible, transparent elections, but not
with a questionable institution. The organization of the elections must be
entrusted to a neutral person who does not belong to a political party", he told
the Special Representative, who is also in charge of the certification of the
electoral process in Côte d'Ivoire, including a "credible" final electoral list
of which is a significant element, he stressed. [...]

Choi met with the chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Robert

Interference in the management of the appeals / Alphonse Djedje Mady (CEO of
RHDP): "The RHDP demands the resignation of the Minister of Interior for proven
misconduct"

Le Nouveau Réveil
 - "The executive
board of the Rally of the  Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) met
yesterday with the Special Representative of the Facilitator of the Ouagadougou
Political Agreement resulting from the direct dialogue, Mr. Boureima Badini to
express their concern regarding the management of the  appeals on the
provisional voters list. After the meeting with the representative of the
Burkinabe President, Blaise Compaoré, the chairman of the RHDP executive Board,
Professor Alphonse Djedje Mady informed the press that "... .... We have come to
meet with the facilitator to give him the RHDP's position which you already
know. People are calling for the resignation of the IEC members without
providing a single proof of their guilt. We say that unless the proof of the
fraud is established, the president of the IEC must not be replaced. We very
strongly condemn the ill-timed interference of the Minister of the Interior in
the management of this case, outside of the government mandate. As you know very
well what the Premier Minister, the head of government said and what the
Interior Minister said as member of the FPI. He conducted investigations when he
was not mandated to do so and then, he sent unsolicited messages to the
Territorial Administration averting the constitutional provisions and the
contents of all agreements by doing so. In its turn, because of all these gross
mistakes proven by written records, the RHDP demands the resignation of the
Interior Minister if we want this electoral process to progress. This will allow
the Minister to plainly play his role of the member of the FPI.. [...] "

Peace Process: Wodié demands
the withdrawal of Tagro's telegrams

Fraternité Matin
 - "The telegram
(memo) of  the Minister, despite its reinterpretation or even its withdrawal, is
viewed as an attempt to divert the  procedure (the authorities) or  to deflect
the electoral process secretly conducted during the IEC crisis... .... Minister
Tagro and any other political or administrative authority should not intervene,
in any manner whatsoever, directly or indirectly in the management of the
elections, the responsibility of which depends, exclusively, on the Independent
Electoral Commission. [...] Minister Tagro should simply withdraw immediately
and publicly his memo, and all powers should accordingly be removed from the
Prefects. [...] "

Successful peaceful march of
RHDP' s youth on the Rti last Tuesday / Karamoko Yayoro

(President of the Rjdp) to President Bédié yesterday: "We are waiting for
other missions"

Le Nouveau Réveil
 - "[...]" We came to meet with the president to assess  yesterday's event (editor's note: the day
before yesterday) with him and to express to  him our gratitude. You know it is
under his direction that the first Political Bureau of the RHDP took place.
During that meeting, they gave us their support. Consequently, we came to greet
him and thank you him and also let him know that we are waiting for other
missions because we want them to know that this is the beginning. We have the
duty to continue so that after this fight democracy will become a reality.
