peaceful electoral environment. This was part of UNOCI Tour, an information and

trophy to the National Union of the Journalists of Côte d'Ivoire (UNJCI) for the
ninth edition of the confraternity tournament organized by the union on 2
October 2010. The official handover ceremony, which was held on Thursday 23
September 2010 at the Mission's headquarters in Abidjan, was the opportunity for
Hamadoun Touré, Chief of the Public Information Office and also UNOCI's
spokesperson, to highlight the importance of fair-play, which goes beyond sport.
"As there is only a short time before the holding of the presidential election,
fair-play has a particular meaning", he said. "In fact, fair-play calls for
dialogue, respect of the rules of the game, respect for your adversary, respect
for the referee whatever his verdict. We should promote these values in the
coming weeks".

serious adversaries the former Head of State, Alassane Dramane Ouattara. From
Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 October 2010, Claude Guéant will tell the three leaders

the town. Laurent Gbagbo who was accompanied by the Minister of Mines and
Energy, Augustin Kouadio Komoé, the local representatives and professionals in

candidate of the presidential majority is genuinely conducting a campaign. And
Bouna (east of Côte d'Ivoire) is the locality Gbagbo chose to talk to his
compatriots, like in 1990 and 2000 with a new slogan: "Together let us resume

Ivorian
presidential election / Anaky Kobena in Bruxelles: "The country is full of arms"

Le Nouveau
Réveil  –

The chairman of the Movement of Future Forces (MFA), Innocent Anaky Kobena, on
Friday was the guest of the Ivorian diaspora in Brussels. As usual, Anaky
directly expressed his opposition to his ex-friend and present political
adversary, Laurent Gbagbo. For him, everything should be done to get him out of
the President's office. But he is still convinced that it will not be easy.
Because they are faced with people who are determined to keep power by all
means. "This explains the fact that the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) is buying
arms in spite of the embargo imposed on Côte d'Ivoire by the United Nations. The
recent scandal regarding the plots between the Minister of Defence and some
channels selling arms is just the visible part of the iceberg", said the leader
of the Future Forces. For him, the Abidjan region as well as the western part of
the country is full of arms that have been hidden to be handed over to militias
if things do not happen as desired by the FPI.
