Special Representative receives IMF Resident Representative

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), Aichatou Mindaoudou on Thursday, 18 September 2014, met with the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Alain Feler, at the headquarters of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan.



Speaking after the meeting, Mr. Feler said he had come to inform the Special Representative about an IMF mission which is in Côte d'Ivoire to review the institution's credit agreement with the country.







The IMF Resident Representative said that he had explained the aim of the mission which started on 17 September 2014 to the head of UNOCI.



He added that he had taken the opportunity to ask Mrs Mindaoudou for a meeting with the mission next week.



Turning to the IMF's support to Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Feler said that since November 2011, the financial institution has had a three-yearly agreement with Côte d'Ivoire.



« The agreement is reviewed twice yearly. Côte d'Ivoire's reviews have been favourable five times. This will be the sixth review and we are discussiing with the Ivorian authorities the possibility of extending the progremme for the next year, » he said.
