Soir Info, Le Jour Plus revisit the courtesy calls on Prime Minster Kablan Duncan and Foreign Minister Charles Diby on Monday by the new head of the UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI), Mrs. Aichtou Mindaoudou and highlight the fact that she is the fifth Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Cote d'Ivoire since the deployment of the UN Mission in 2004.

Le Mandat: Calm in the western region has been short-lived as UNOCI Force, the French Licorne Force and the Ivorian Army (FRCI) remain in a state of maximum alert in order to respond to the increasing threats of attacks by unidentified individuals. UNOCI Force conducted a total of 1700 land and air patrols last week as a deterrent to any attempt to destabilise the country and the increasing rate of banditry.

Fraternite Matin: Armed robbers yesterday attacked a public transport bus along the Bouake-Djebonoua highway. Two persons died and 30 injured when the bus driver lost control and swerved into a bush as the bandits fired warning shots. The bandits took to their heels before executing their robbery when they saw an on coming official convoy escorted by security agents.

Fraternite Matin: The Prefect of Guemon region and Duekoue division has issued a warning to the followers of former warlord, Amade Oueremi and other illegal occupants of the Mont Peko forest reserve who are obstructing government action aimed at identifying and evicting the squatters. The Prefect warned those who are mounting barricades to prevent the movement of government officials and called on them to respect the law or face the consequences.

L'Inter reports that the census operation and sensitisation campaign are expected to last 3 weeks. Evicted persons would be taken care of by a reintegration programme set up by the national Authority for Disarmment, Demobilsation and Reintegration, ADDR.
