UN Special Representative for Côte d’Ivoire meets Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation Commission

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on Monday, 22 July 2013, met with Mr. Charles Konan Banny, chairman of the Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The meeting was part of a series of courtesy calls on partners of UNOCI and took place in the presence of members of the Commission.



Speaking at the end of the encounter, Mrs Mindaoudou welcomed the fact that she was able to meet with all the members of the Commission. « I told the members of the Commission that the UN Secretary-General was pleased with the excellent cooperation which exists between their institution and the United Nations, » she added.



The Special Representative and the chairman of the Commission reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen their cooperation in an effort to promote national reconciliation and social cohesion in Côte d'Ivoire.
