Principal Deputy Special Representative meets high-level Jordanian Police delegation

The Principal Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Simon Munzu, on Friday, 16 January 2015 met with a high-level Jordanian Police delegation which is in the country to inspect, assess and sensitise the Jordanian Formed Police Unit serving with the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI).



Speaking to the media after the meeting, the head of the Jordanian Police delegation, General Hamadan Al Rahimi said : "We are here to ensure that everything is going well with the Jordanian police and that they are not in need of anything so that they can carry out their mission with UNOCI under the right conditions ».



Regarding the work of the Jordanian Formed Police Unit in Côte d'Ivoire, General Al Rahimi said that he had received positive feedback from the UN Mission. "We have been told that our special forces are working very well and carry out their duties in the field as they should. » he added.



Composed of senior police commanders, including generals, the delegation arrived in Abidjan on 15 January and will soend tend days in the Mission area during which it will meet senior managers in UNOCI and visit the areas in which the Jordanian police officers are deployed.
