« With peaceful elections, its Côte d'Ivoire that wins ! » : This is the slogan repeated in unison by a delegation of women from political parties and civil society in Bouaké at the end of a meeting with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on 6 October 2015, at the headquarters of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) in Abidjan.

« The Special Representative encouraged us to stay on the path we have taken, that is to say we should remain standard-bearers for peace, » said the spokesperson of the delegation, Mrs Josephine Konan to members of the press.

We want free and transparent elections

« We want free and transparent elections so that the results are accepted by all and that everything is done in a spirit of conviviality and brotherhood », added Mrs Konan, referring to forthcoming presidential election on 25 October.

She then expressed the hope that their meetings with UNOCI will multiply and that the Mission will continue to support groups like theirs.

The delegation which visited the Special Representative regroups women from several political groups and parties and civil society in Bouaké.
