Contact Group of Monitoring Unit for Peaceful and Credible Elections pays courtesy call on Special Representative

A delegation of the Contact Group of the Monitoring Unit for Peaceful and Credible Elections , on Wednesday, 21 October 2015, paid a courtesy call on the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, during which it discussed the general situation in the country.



The head of the Contact Group, former President of Mali, Dionkounda Traoré, said that the aim of their visit in Côte d'Ivoire was to contribute to the good conduct of the presidential election.



In addition, Mr. Traoré explained that the Contact Group did not have an observation mission or a mission of censorship. « We are not here to judge, we are here to help Côte d'Ivoire, a country that has helped a lot of other countries," he added.​
