UNOCI/IEC Colloqium : Representatives from the media, civil society and political parties commit to prevention of conflicts, reconstruction in run-up to presidential poll

At the end of two days of discussions at a colloqium on the theme « Media, Civil Society, Political groups and parties for Conflict Prevention and Reconstruction », organised in Abidjan on 1 and 2 October 2015 by the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), participants have presented the fruits of their reflections. These included recommendations made to the Government, the IEC, the media, political parties and partners and a final Declaration in which they made a commitment to work to prevent conflict.



The documents were presented during the closing ceremony of the colloqium which took place on 2 October 2015 in the presence of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Mr. Youssouf Bakayoko, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of regional and international organisations.
