UNOCI provides first aid to injured victims after road accident in Guézon

The Moroccan Contingent of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) provided help to injured victims of a road accident on 5 November 2015 in Guézon, a village situated at some 20 km east of Duékoué. A lorry had overturned on the road trapping a man beneath it.

The Contingent quickly dispatched an ambulance, a medical team and two vehicles, including a tow truck, to the accident spot. On its arrival at the accident spot, the emergency response team was able to lift a part of the overturned lorry, thereby saving the life of a man who was trapped beneath it. The man, who was seriously injured was immediately taken to the health centre in Guézon for treatment, while another male victim, who was only slightly injured, was evacuated to the Moroccan Contingent's clinic in Duékoué, where he was treated and released.
