Special Representative receives UNAIDS Regional Adviser for the sub-region

The UNAIDS Regional Adviser for Central and West Africa, Mr. Diakité Mamadi, on Tuesday, 11 March 2014, paid a courtesy call on the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou. Mr. Diakité brought a personal message from the Executive Director of UNAIDS regarding a meeting which is to be held in Côte d'Ivoire at the end of 2014.

Speaking to journalists after his meeting with the Special Representative, the UNAIDS Regional Adviser explained that he had come to see the head of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) to discuss the need to work closely with the mission on UNAIDS action programmes.

« Naturally, it is about ensuring that from now on the development partners pay particular attention to HIV issues especially with regard to legal responses to them," added the UNAIDS Regional Adviser.
