Special Representative meets Minister in charge of Political Dialogue in President’s Office

As part of her regular meetings with Ivorian authorities, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on Thursday, 17 December 2015, met with the Minister in charge of Political Dialogue in the President's Office, Mr. Jeannot Kouadio Ahoussou, to inquire about the resumption of political dialogue and national reconciliation in accordance with her good offices mandate.



The two officials discussed several issues, including the calendar for future elections, national reconciliation and dialogue with opposition parties.



Speaking after the encounter, Minister Jeannot Ahoussou welcomed the positive assessment of the presidential election of October 2015. "Côte d'Ivoire has achieved an important stage in the peace process in organizing this peaceful election: zero violence, zero deaths, zero injuries, zero rape; we say bravo and thank you to the United Nations for having resolutely accompanied us on the path to peace".



The Minister added that he had also discussed legislative, municipal and regional elections, as well as the resumption of political dialogue with the Chief of the UN Operation in Côte d'Ivoire(UNOCI).
