The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on Thursday, 12 March 2015, met with the president of the Liberty and Democracy for the Republic (LIDER) party, Mr. Mamadou Koulibaly, a delegation of political parties known as the « third way » and representatives of candidates for the 2015 presidential election at LIDER's headquarters.



Responding to questions from journalists after the meeting, the president of LIDER said that he « had informed the Special Representative of the setting up of a wide coalition which they will present to her officially at a later date ». He also said that he had asked Mrs Mindaoudou « to ask the Government to take into consideration some of their points with regard to the elections ».



Mr. Koulibaly said that the Special Representative had reiterated « her availability to receive the group once they have taken their final decisions so that she can discuss with them the details of their different concerns».
