Special Representative meets Agriculture Minister

In continuation of her contacts with national authorities, the Special Representative of UN Secretary-General for Cote d'Ivoire, Mrs. Aichatou Mindaoudou, on Friday 18 October 2013, paid a courtesy call on Ivorian Minister of Agriculture, Mamadou Sangofowa Coulibaly.



"{Our discussions centred on improving and developing the existing partnership between UNOCI and the Ministry of Agriculture}," declared Mrs. Mindaoudou after the meeting. The Special Representative reaffirmed the commitment of UNOCI to support the Ministry of Agriculture to optimally resolve land related issues. "{The entire UN System is assisting the government to benefit from the most adequate counseling in order to handle the land problem}," she said.



Asked by reporters to say how the government was planning to implement the law on land ownership, the Minister of Agriculture replied: "{We are moving to the implementation phase and that is why UNOCI is consulting all its partners including UNOCI}."
