The Special Representative exchanges with the Minister in charge of political dialogue

Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs. Aïchatou Mindaouadou, on 28 January 2016, met with the State Minister at the President's Office in charge of Political Dialogue and relations with institutions, Jeannot Ahoussou-Kouadio.



The meeting was part of regular exchanges between the two personalities to assess the current progress on the political dialogue and to discuss issues raised by the Ivorian opposition.



Speaking to journalists at the end of the encounter, Mr. Ahoussou-Kouadio announced that the law governing political parties will be revised.

"{We need to see all the problems political parties are facing, in particular the creation of parties and their methods of financing}" He also underlined that following parliamentary elections scheduled to take place at the end of the year, a new legal harmonized framework will be put in place, taking into account the current political context.



"{The Special Representative and I, have exchanged and shared our respective views on those questions in order to see how we can continue to work together, to help Côte d'Ivoire regains its shine}", he said.
