NPSC Director solicits Special Representative’s contribution to the achievement of her Mission

"We came here to present the National Programme for Social Cohesion (NPSC), its initial mission and its new remit and to solicit the contribution of the Special Representative so that we can carry out our mandate under the best possible conditions," declared the Director of the NPSC, Mrs Mariatou Koné, after her encounter with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on Monday, 11 May 2015 at the headquarters of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI).

Explaining the NPSC priorities a few months before the holding of peaceful, participative and inclusive elections, Mrs Koné started by thanking UNOCI for the regular support and assistance it had given to her organization. She then asked the UN Mission for logistic and technical assistance. In this regard, the director of NPSC said she needed experts on the reparation of victims which she said was an important issue. " Other countries have had such experiences. But we don't want to just take them on board, we want to adapt them to the Ivorian reality," said explained.

The National Programme for Sicial Cohesion was created in February 2012. Its new remit consists of compensation of victims of the post-electoral crisis of 2010/2011.
