UNOCI rehabilitates AIBEF in Daloa

The UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI) has carried out the rehabilitation of the regional office of the family welfare NGO "Association Ivoirienne pour le Bien-etre Familial" (AIBEF) in Daloa.

The renovated office was handed over on Wednesday 23 October after rehabilitation work estimated at CFA 11.9 million francs (approx. 20,000 USD) funded by UNOCI Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) programme.

The Rule of Law representative in Daloa said this contribution was aimed at improving the welfare of the population in general and to fight against HIV/AIDS in particular.

The Executive director of AIBEF, Kei Florent expressed

gratitude to the UN Mission. "{UNOCI has enabled us to improve our services, particularly the handling of persons suffering from HIV/AIDS. We promise to make good use of the equipment received}," he said.

A regular user of the facility, Kouassi Helene promised to sensitise her friends to visit the centre. "{I prefer to get my treatment here because money is not a handicap. We are welcomed and given attention with courtesy,}" she said.
