New UNOCI Chief embarks on field trip with first stops in Bouake.

One week after assuming office, the new Special Representative of UN Secretary-General for Cote d'Ivoire, Mrs. Aichatou Mindaoudou arrived in Bouake on Monday 15 July 2013 at the start of a contact tour of the interior of the country to take the pulse of the situation on the ground. She has been meeting with UNOCI regional staff to acquaint herself with their working conditions and meeting local authorities and representatives of civil society.



The current tour that would take her to several towns kicked off in Bouake where she paid a courtesy call on local authorities and held working sessions with UNOCI Sector East team and a powerful delegation of the civil society including traditional and religious leaders as well as representatives of women's and youth associations.
