The new Director of Operations for the World Bank in Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Ousmane Diagana, met with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on 30 January 2014 at the headquarters of the UN Mission in Abidjan.



Their discussions focused on areas of cooperation between the two institutions.



Speaking at the end of the encounter, Mr. Diagana told journalists: « I came to see how the two institutions could work together and contribute to progress in peace and reconciliation, as well as reconstruction and economic and social development».



« Through the development of Côte d'Ivoire, the West African sub-region, including the Sahelian countries, can begin to enjoy stability and economic and social development, » added the World Bank's Director of Operations.
