Minister of State, Minister of the Interior and Security pays a courtesy call on Special Representative

"{I told the Special Representative that her mission was important because it is during a period in which we must consolidate peace}," said the Minister of State, Minister of the Interior and Security, Hamed Bakayoko, at the end of his visit with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on Thursday, 3 October 2013.



Minister Bakayoko said that he discussed various issues with the head of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), including politics and security. "{We discussed various political and security issues with regard to strengthening peace in Côte d'Ivoire through the dynamic partnership between Côte d'Ivoire and the United Nations,}" he added.



Since taking up her post on 5 July 2013, Mrs Mindaoudou has held several meetings with Ivorian officials including the Minister of the Interior and Security and all the actors involved in the reconciliation, social cohesion and development process in Côte d'Ivoire.
