Special Representative and Minister of State discuss progress in the resumption political dialogue between the Ivorian Popular Front and Government







The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on 19 May 2014, met with the Minister of State to the President, Jeannot Ahoussou-Kouadio, to discuss progress in the resumption of political dialogue between the Ivorian Popular Front - Front Populaire ivoirien(FPI) and the Government.





Speaking after the discussions, Mrs Mindaoudou told journalists that she had noticed the goodwill of the Government for the resumption of political dialogue. She welcomed the work being carried out by the Minister of State's team and expressed her satisfaction at the fact that Minister Ahoussou-Kouadio had sent a letter to the FPI inviting them to come back to the dialogue table on Thursday, 22 May.





« I know that the FPI has expressed their willingness to resume and conduct political dialogue with the Government, » she added.





Mrs Mindaoudou then appealed to the FPI and the Government to show a constructive attitude so that the political dialogue can resume under good conditions.
