
In Sinfra, the head of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), held successive working sessions with local government leaders, traditional chiefs as well as elected representatives, senior executives and representatives of political parties in the district. During the discussions, the different speakers agreed that it was important to become fully involved in promoting social cohesion and national reconciliation "for always".
Mrs Mindaoudou encouraged everyone to consolidate social cohesion and « disarm their hearts ». She expressed her joy at inclusive character of the meetings she had with the elected representatives and senior executives and the representatives of political parties. « I urge you all to become actors in the reconstruction of the social fabric," said.

Regards security issues, she recalled UNOCI protection of civilian mandate and urged everyone to work closely with the UN Mission.
UN Days provides an opportunity for UNOCI and UN agencies working in Côte d'Ivoire to meet and discuss with local government authorities, traditional leaders, elected representatives and senior executives, representatives of political parties as well as local residents of the region, explain the UN's mandate and activities while urging them to become involved in promoting social cohesion and national reconciliation which would in turn lead to peaceful elections in 2015.
The first day of the three-day information and sensitization campaign on 12 November was marked by free medical consultations, a school caravan, workshops, sports activities and screenings of films on social cohesion. The Special Representative will take part in a discussion forum with the people of Sinfra, tomorrow, 14 November 2014.
