The 19th contingent of the Moroccan Battalion (Morbatt) of the UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI) on 23 May 2014 donated school kits to pupils of the Guemon 1 Government Primary School, Duekoue division, 502 km north-west of Abidjan.
Some 20 pupils received gifts which included knapsacks, exercise books, pens, colour pencils, rulers, drawing paper and pairs of scissors.
A representative of Morbatt commander urged the pupils to show perseverance in their studies, saying ""{this little gift is to encourage you to study in good condition. You should know you have a long way to go and as long as you live, you will never stop learning}"."
The director of the school, Clement Tiehi expressed joy and gratitude to Morbatt for its many gestures of support to his school. "{Thank you for renewing your support each time we make a request. I wish it would be maintained for the development of Ivorian education,}" he said.
