UNOCI Moroccan contingent donates school kits to pupils in Duekoue

Pupils of the Pere Thete 1 and 2 government primary schools in Duekoue (502 km north-west of Abidjan) were the happy recipients of school kits donated recently by the Moroccan battalion (MORBATT) of the UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI).

The donation included a total of 40 kits consisting of a knapsack, several exercise books, pens, pencils and sharpeners for pupils and reams of writing paper and notebooks for the teachers.

The headmasters of the schools, Martin Moussa Traore and Arthur Dje said they were pleased with the gifts and the choice of their schools, pointing out that this was not the first gesture by MORBATT. "{MORBATT has been assisting us since last year with drinking water. We appreciate this initiative and hope this partnership will continue for the wellbeing of our pupils}," they said.

Two pupils of the upper primary class, Aka Dago and Arthur Gondo expressed their joy and said they were encouraged to study harder.

It should be recalled that the government primary schools of Bahe Blaon, Nanandi and Fengolo have also benefitted from a similar gesture by MORBATT.
