Special Representative meets Ivorian Minister of State for Interior and Security

The Special Representative of UN Secretary-General in Cote d'Ivoire, Mrs. Aichatou Mindaoaudou on Wednesday 3 September 2014 met with the Ivorian Minister of State for Interior and Security, Hamed Bakayoko to discuss a wide range of issues related to peace and social cohesion.



They also discussed current affairs, especially matters concerning the need for consensus on the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI). "The Special Representative and I talked about the setting up an executive bureau of the CEI by consensus and examined efforts made by all the interested parties," Mr. Bakayoko told the press.



Wednesday's meeting took place within the framework of periodic consultations between the UN Special Representative and the Interior Minister to review current issues and progress made in the national reconciliation process.
