UNOCI : A week of activities to commemorate World Aids Days

As part of its activities to commemorate the 26th annivesary of World Aids Day on 1st December, the HIV/AIDS Unit of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) on Tuesday, 26 November 2013, launched a series of activities at the UN Mission's headquarters in Sebroko, Abidjan.



These activities will include sensitisation sessions on HIV/AIDS prevention, voluntary testing and treatment for UNOCI personnel. A press conference is also scheduled to be given by UNAIDS and a discussion on "Zero tolerance on HIV, zero discrimination and zero deaths linked to AIDS" to be broadcast on ONUCI FM, the Mission 24-hour radio station.



On the 1st of December 2013, World Aids Day, the campaign against AIDS for 2013-2014 will be officially launched by Ivorian authorities, United Nations agencies and NGOs at the Palais des Sports in Treichville, Abidjan.



The activities will come to an end on 2 December 2013 with the reading of the UN Secretary-General's message by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Aichatou Mindaoudou.
