Ivorian Minister-delegate for Defence pays a courtesy call on Special Representative

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou, on Friday, 27 September 2013, received the Minister-delegate for Defence, Paul Koffi Koffi.



Speaking to the press after the meeting, Minister Koffi Koffi, said that he had come to pay a courtesy call on the chief of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) and discuss with her.



"{UNOCI in its two main activities has a military part and in the department of Defence we need to ask the Special Representative for advice on the support that peacekeepers can provide to our forces on the ground especially with the regard to the new adjustments to the number of soldiers serving with the Mission as stated in the new Resolution of the United Nations Security Council}," he said.



Nominated on 17 May 2013 by the United Nations Secretary-General, Mrs Mindaoudou took up her duties on 5 July 2013.
