
"The Ministry of Justice is a partner of UNOCI. We work with the Ministry of Justice on several issues, especially on human rights, prisons but not only because of that; for me, my visit to him was obligatory," said Mrs Mindaoudou at the end of the meeting. In this regards, she said that she had assured Mr. Coulibaly of her willingness to continue the collaboration between the UN Mission and the Ministry of Justice.
For his part, the Minister of Justice, Human Rights and Public Liberties said he was pleased to receive the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire. "Our expectations are huge. Mrs Mindaoudou reassured us and confirmed her willingness to help us in our efforts to meet the expectations of Ivorians regarding the judicial system and also promote human rights in Côte d'Ivoire," said Minister Coulibaly.
Nominated on 17 May 2013 by the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, the Special Representative officially took up her duties on 5 July 2013.
