Former deputy head of IOM visits Special Representative

Mrs Ndioro Ndiaye, a former Minister of Social Development in Senegal and ex-deputy director-general of the International Organisation of Migration, on Thursday, 3 October 2013, visited the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d'Ivoire, Mrs Aïchatou Mindaoudou.



Speaking at the end of the meeting, Mrs Ndiaye said she had spoken to the Special Representative and head of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), about the importance that many women accord to her position and the work she was doing in Africa. She recalled the excellent cooperation between herself and the Special Representative when they both worked on the huge development challenges in the West African sub-region at the African Union and the Community of Sahel-Sahara States.



"{My visit was also one of encouragement to tell her that African women see themselves in her and we are following what she is doing and we want her to know that we are ready to help however we can," }concluded Mrs Ndiaye.
