Abidjan, 19 April 2010... Continuing his consultations with the technical operators in charge of identification and electoral registration, the Chief of the UN Technical Assessment Mission, Raisedon Zenenga, discussed the electoral process with the director general of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Meleu Matthieu, on Monday.
The discussion revolved around clarification on the problems of fraud, the white list, concerns on the audit of the current list and how to process the grey list, as well as other issues.
"We provided the Mission with clear technical explanations on all of their concerns. They were satisfied with the answers we gave them," added the director of INS.
In response to questions put by Mr. Zenenga, on when the electoral process will resume and the time needed to complete it, Mr. Meleu said he had also provided some information on this issue. In this regard, he said that his institution was now considering a new modus operandi so that the grey list can be processed very carefully and quickly and the white list audited according to the rules.
On Saturday, 17 April, the Technical Assessment Mission met with the head of Sagem Security, the private technical operator in charge of identification. At the end of the meeting, Sagem's representative, did not make any comment.
