The United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Sierra Leone (UNIPSIL) was established on 4 August 2009 to support peace and democratic governance. Its mandate ended on 31 March 2014, and its responsibilities were transferred to the UN Country Team in Sierra Leone.

UNIPSIL Human Rights Section Universal Periodic Review

UNIPSIL Human Rights in collaboration with the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone held on 11-13 August regional consultative forums in preparation for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in Kenema, Bo and Makeni respectively. The program aimed at sensitizing civil society groups, government agencies and NGOs on the significant role they could play in providing inputs towards the report which will be sent to UN Human Rights Council.
