UNOCI pays homage to Senegalese peacekeeper

The United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) regrets to announce the death of a Senegalese peacekeeper deployed in the Mission. Soldier Idrissa Badji died on Tuesday, 8 April 2014 in Abidjan, following a road traffic accident. Soldier Idrissa Badji arrived in Côte d'Ivoire on 10 November 2013. He is married and has one child. He died at the age of 39. His death brings the total number of soldiers who have died since UNOCI was deployed in April 2004, to 81. UNOCI presents its sincere condolences to the Senegalese Contingent and the bereaved family.
