GHANAIAN SOLDIER SERVING WITH UNOCI DIES

Abidjan, 3 October 2008.... The United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), regrets to announce the death of a Ghanaian soldier serving with the Mission. Soldier Haruna Abudu died on Thursday 25 September after a short illness.
Abudu arrived in Côte d'Ivoire on 3 July 2008 and was serving with the Ghanaian battalion deployed in Bondoukou. He was 28 years old and unmarried.
He is the 34th military personnel to die since the Mission was deployed in April 2004.

UNOCI sends its deep condolences to his family and the Government of Ghana.
