On 20 July, MINURSO observed Colombia’s Independence Day by hoisting the national flag at the Mission’s HQ in Laayoune next to the UN flag.
Since signing a framework agreement with the United Nations in 2015, Colombia’s Armed Forces have deployed over 20 military observers (UNMOs) in a number of different missions, including two UNMOs currently serving in MINURSO.
